I am not familiar with ViceVersa. I agree that managing disks and data is a pain. Although, if you are using an SSD, then defragmenting is not an issue, but backing up data still is.

I use ViceVersa for copying files and sync the files, delete, then wipe the free space and then copy back.
Pain in the ass procedure but needed once a year at min.
I wish someone will make a software to do all that in one go.
